Kimberly and Kandice are both experienced lampwork beadmakers from Washington. We've decided to collaborate on this website because we believe we each bring a contrasting, yet harmonious viewpoint to beadmaking, and we'd like to share that with our fellow artists.

The way we each go about choosing glass and employing techniques when making beads can sometimes be completely opposite of one-another, and we have decided that it would be fun to celebrate those differences. We both have our different strengths and weaknesses, and complement eachother very well when it comes to comparing them.

The result, we hope, will be a range of tutorials for the beginner, novice, and intermediate beadmakers, which will offer something for all beadmaking personalities and artistic voices.

As such, we have decided that we will each write a little something about the other - for fun!

About Kimberly

Kandice Says:
"Kim is one of the greats in the beadmaking world - her amazing works of art are just astounding. She is probably best known for her ethereal, magical seahorse beads, which are highly sought after. She also makes super long bicones decorated with amazing and unexpected little details. Her favorite thing these days is experimenting with the myriad of silver glasses out there, and I must say the results are so cool, I am in awe!

Kim's been making beads for over 14 years, and she has been active in the ISGB. She teaches all over the world, and somehow makes time for multiple bead shows per year as well. She works on a Barracuda torch with tanked oxygen, although she does admit to having many other torches to play with. Kim's a fun-loving, humble and generous person who I am grateful to have as my friend. She has a sweet kitty at home, and a twenty-something son to keep her on her toes."

About Kandice

Kimberly Says:
"Kandice is a warm, genuine, funny person and a fantastic bead maker. If you have been online for any period of time looking at beads, you have seen hers! They are lovely! Tiny, detailed, perfectly executed and sometimes, outrageously PINK!! Kandice has a mastery of glass colors, layering, putting color combinations together that make her beads juicy and delightful. I love her color sense and her beads!! Kandice has contributed a lot to the glass bead making community with tutorials, glass testing, color information and just plain, old fashioned generosity. She is a gem.

Kandice has been making beads for quite a while, more than six years full time. She works with a Nortel Minor torch on a concentrator. She has a wonderful husband and some really great kitties (everyone should have kitties). I am honored to call her friend, and really astounded to be able to collaborate with her on this website!"
